Wanderlust is...

A) An obscure song by Paul McCartney
B) A central theme to Matt Surowiec's work
C) All of the above
D) None of the above

Matt's quest for adventure began when he was just 2 years old. That was the beginning of yearly family road trips to Florida. The result? A lifelong fascination with observation and the open road.

Matt's love of music began when he was just 3 years old. That was when his mother bought him his first 3 records. The songs? "Lucille" by Kenny Rogers, "Handy Man" by James Taylor, and "Slip Sliding Away" by Paul Simon.

Matt's desire to perform began when he was just 4 years old. That was when he heard a rock band practicing down the street from his house. The band? Nobody famous, but young Matt invited himself into their practice and became a lifelong fan.

Fast forward to 2008...and an excerpt from Matt's journal:

"I've spent most of the last two years writing and recording, erasing and re-writing, re-recording and re-rewriting...

Every day I had rockabilly for breakfast, some folk-rock roots for second breakfast, mellow folk for elevenses, grunge for luncheon, jangly pop for tea, country for dinner, and a big Athena's fish fry for supper. Now I'm full."
